Sloppy Joes

Here’s a recipe for Sloppy Joes that serves 4-6 people:

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 small green bell pepper, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp mustard powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Hamburger buns

Instructions:

  1. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, sauté the onion, green pepper, and garlic until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the cooked ground beef back into the skillet with the sautéed vegetables and stir to combine.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the ketchup, water, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard powder, salt, and pepper.
  5. Pour the ketchup mixture over the beef and vegetables in the skillet and stir until everything is evenly coated.
  6. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce has thickened.
  7. Serve the Sloppy Joes on hamburger buns and enjoy!
