Here’s a recipe for Sloppy Joes that serves 4-6 people:
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 small green bell pepper, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp mustard powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Hamburger buns
Instructions:
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat and set aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté the onion, green pepper, and garlic until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add the cooked ground beef back into the skillet with the sautéed vegetables and stir to combine.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the ketchup, water, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard powder, salt, and pepper.
- Pour the ketchup mixture over the beef and vegetables in the skillet and stir until everything is evenly coated.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce has thickened.
- Serve the Sloppy Joes on hamburger buns and enjoy!
